Every year Magen David Adom offers hundreds of students aged 18 to 25, from across the globe, the chance to participate in their volunteer programme and experience first hand, why MDA is such a unique organisation.
The extremely successful Volunteer Programme has been running in conjunction with the British Aliyah Department for the last two years and over a hundred students have attended. They have had a wonderful time learning first aid and seeing how MDA works.
The programme runs for six weeks at a time, throughout the year, and volunteers from all of the world participate in this wonderful experience. The programme begins with a week-long intensive first aid training course where subjects such as basic anatomy and physiology, CPR, trauma and dealing with injuries are covered. After completing the course, you work alongside some of the 10,000 medics and paramedics, of which 8,500 are volunteers, going out in ambulances and dealing with real life situations.
