MDA HAS OPENED A BANK ACCOUNT FOR DONATIONS IN AID OF THE REFUGEES IN HAITI IN THE CARRIBEAN
An MDA delegation with a number of Paramedic teams left this morning for Haiti, in order to give aid to the victims of the catastrophic earthquake. The delegation will land in the neighbouring Dominican Republic and will join the team of the Norwegian Red Cross who will set up a field hospital in Haiti.
Chaim Rafalowski, head of the delegation which set out this morning to help the victims of the catastrophic earthquake said: "the delegation is made up of Paramedics who have undergone special training at the International Red Cross Movement in setting up a field hospital to deal with such a large number of victims from a natural disaster. The delegation will land in the neighbouring Dominican Republic and will join the team of the Norwegian Red Cross who will set up a field hospital. Donations will enable the purchase of medical equipment and other articles that will serve the millions of refugees and homeless who lost all their possessions in an instance in the earthquake and have been left without a roof over their heads, water or food for some time already, and most of them have also lost their beloved ones. I hope that we can help as many people as possible and that we will be of use and influence and that we can bring honour to MDA and the State of Israel".
Magen David Adom in Israel has opened a bank account whose sole purpose is to collect donations to buy the necessary items needed for the survivors of the earthquake in Haiti. The items will be bought according to the needs reported by the delegation in cooperation with the Federation of the Red Cross - medical equipment and First Aid, blankets, drugs, water, food, hygienic articles, tablets to purify the water, sheets of nylon and tents.
Donations can be made to account number 17926, Bank Discount, Branch 151, Yad Eliyahu, Tel Aviv. Name of the account "Magen David Adom donations to the Carribean".
MDA will help the inhabitants of Haiti as the national organisation of Israel in the following ways: delegations giving emergency medical and professional help, acquisition of medical equipment and drugs, help in rehabilitation and rebuilding, help with funding for rehabilitation projects. All the help given is dependend on the amount of donations received and help that we will get from the citizens of Israel to carry out these tasks. We turn to you with a plea to donate to the efforts to help and to give as much as you can in order to help the people of Haiti in rehabilitation and building, so that they can return to their every day life as quickly as possible with the least possible suffering" said David Abadi the MDA Coordinator with the Red Cross.
