Israeli Ambassador Volunteers Again for Magen David Adom

BDO Stoy Hayward's new office at 55 Baker Street was the venue for Magen David Adom's first Young Patrons event on Monday evening, 1st September 2008.

120 young people attended  and had the opportunity to network while enjoying canapes and champagne.

The young professionals in attendance - either Young Patrons or potential Young Patrons - heard from co-chair of Magen David Adom Young Patrons David Kahtan of his personal connection to Magen David Adom, and the lifesaving work of the service in Israel. A moving short film made it clear how vital a role Magen David Adom plays and has played since Israel's establishment 60 years ago.

Israel's Ambassador Ron Prosor then gave an address, where he described how both he and his wife had volunteered for MDA in the past, and answered questions from the audience.

£7,000 was raised from the event and co-chair David Gross said of the evening, "It was remarkable to see the enthusiasm of the young people in the room. The sense of empowerment that they could really make a difference in saving more lives resonated through."
